A nationwide SW Research poll, commissioned by rp.pl, revealed that Karol Nawrocki leads the Polish right with 28.9% of respondents, while Jarosław Kaczyński falls to second place with 19%.
Survey Question
A SW Research poll, commissioned by rp.pl, asked respondents: “Who is the leader of the Polish right?” The question sparked a clear preference for Karol Nawrocki, who garnered 28.9% of the votes.
Results: Nawrocki Tops, Kaczyński Second
Jarosław Kaczyński ranked second with 19% of responses, followed by Sławomir Mentzen at 9.1%. Other candidates—Grzegorz Braun (6.2%) and Krzysztof Bosak (4.7%)—completed the top five. Only 2.4% chose “other politician,” and 29.5% had no opinion.
Respondent Demographics
Men were slightly more likely to favor Nawrocki, citing him as a leader 32% of the time versus 26% among women. The 35‑49 age group leaned toward Nawrocki at 35%, while 37% of respondents earning over 7,000 PLN net per month also favored him. Urban respondents from cities of 20,000 to 99,000 inhabitants showed a 38% preference for Nawrocki.
Tusk Calls Kaczyński No Longer a Right Leader
On Sunday, former Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that “Jarosław Kaczyński has lost the status of the right’s leader and it seems definitive.” He added that Kaczyński’s cult within PiS is fading and has become a thing of the past.
Internal Tension Within PiS
The comment follows growing factional disputes inside PiS. Two power hubs—Mateusz Morawiecki’s circle and the so‑called “maslar” faction led by Jacek Sasinski, Przemysław Czarnk, and Tobiasz Bocheński—are reportedly at odds.
