PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński warns party members of suspension for participating in public discussions he deems harmful to Poland and the party.
Kaczyński Threatens Punishment
Dear Sirs and Madams, in connection with recent public statements by some PiS members, I inform that anyone who speaks in this harmful discussion, regardless of merits and party position, will be suspended as a PiS member, which will obviously also affect his political future. Such behaviors extremely harm Poland and PiS – wrote Jarosław Kaczyński on Friday, February 13.
Kaleta “Silenced” Terlecki
According to TVN24 reports, on Tuesday an unexpected exchange of words took place between Ryszard Terlecki and Sebastian Kaleta in the parliamentary corridor. Terlecki was asked by a TVN24 journalist whether he “would take money from Zbigniew Ziobro for not attending the sessions”. – If he doesn’t come, that’s fine – replied the PiS MP.
His words were heard by the former Deputy Minister of Justice, who entered the frame, and then suggested that Terlecki “perhaps should not speak on this matter”. The journalist then pointed out that she is currently talking to Terlecki, but Kaleta insisted. – Minister Ziobro is the object of political repression, which the MP surely knows about – he said.
Continuation of the Dispute
On Friday the dispute continued as Terlecki was asked about this situation. – Bullshit – evaluated the politician and added that he “didn’t really like” the behavior of his party colleague. – But what can you do? Not everyone is well-bred – he summarized in a conversation with TVN24. However, the politician stated that he forgives Kaleta and does not expect an apology from him.
Divided PiS Camps
Despite this, the situation divided PiS politicians into two camps. One of its representatives was PiS MP Michał Wójcik, who assessed that Kaleta “behaved as he should and as every PiS MP should behave”. On the other side stood, among others, MP Grzegorz Puda. “Marshal Ryszard Terlecki honestly called the rude behavior of a much younger colleague” – stated the politician.
Mateusz Morawiecki, in turn, appealed “to all heated heads that rushed at Ryszard Terleckiki today” to “calm down”. The politician also warned that “by playing on the internal conflict, they are playing a game designed by opponents”.
Internal Party Conflict
KO MP Tomasz Trela assessed that the situation is a consequence of the dispute that arose in the party between supporters of Mateusz Morawiecki (scouts), and ziobrists (goulash-makers). In his account, politicians from Kaczyński’s circle also appear, who belonged to the Center Agreement (monks).
In his opinion, the situation resembles the conflict that arose in Szymon Hołowni’s Poland 2050. “Beautifully looks the fight of scouts and PC monks with goulash-makers and fugitives. It looks as if they were taking lessons from crying Szymek. Gentlemen, I’m rooting for Szymek too” – wrote the politician.
