Kaczyński sharply dismisses alliance talks with Braun’s party, calling it “unserious” and full of “lizards,” at a Monday conference.
Rejection of Alliance
During Monday’s conference, Jarosław Kaczyński firmly rejected speculation about a potential alliance with Grzegorz Braun’s party. He stated, “Mowy nie ma o żadnych sojuszach z partią Brauna” (“There is no talk of any alliances with Braun’s party”). Kaczyński described the party as “entirely unserious,” adding, “Tam są różne jaszczury i tym podobne” (“There are various lizards and the like”).
He also mentioned individuals “związanych z Rosją, prorosyjskich, proputinowskich” (“connected with Russia, pro-Russian, pro-Putin”) and people “których w polskim życiu publicznym w ogóle nie powinno być” (“who should not be in Polish public life at all”). Kaczyński deemed any cooperation “kompromitująca i całkowicie dysfunkcjonalna” (“compromising and entirely dysfunctional”).
Party Goals
Kaczyński emphasized his party’s aim to create “rząd niepodległościowy” (“an independence government”) that is “bardzo sprawny” (“very efficient”) to handle difficult geopolitical situations. He stressed this requires “współpracy z odpowiedzialnymi politykami” (“cooperation with responsible politicians”).
Media Appeal
Kaczyński appealed to media “chcące mówić prawdę” (“wanting to speak the truth”) not to focus solely on PiS’s internal disputes. He acknowledged these incidents as “niebezpieczne, niedobre, bardzo niedobre” (“dangerous, bad, very bad”) but insisted they are only “na tle ogólnej aktywności partii incydenty” (“incidents against the backdrop of the party’s overall activity”).
He highlighted the party’s extensive activities: visiting powiaty (counties), planning gmina (municipality) tours, organizing program conferences every two weeks, preparing a new program version, and launching cycles of meetings with university students and youth campuses across voivodeships.
“Trwa przygotowanie do tej decydującej bitwy, bitwy o przyszłość naszego kraju” (“Preparations for this decisive battle, the battle for the future of our country, are underway”), Kaczyński stated, noting the address responds to media reports on tensions in PiS, including a clash between Sebastian Kaleta and Ryszard Terlecki.
