Kaczyński Suspends PiS MPs After Less Than Hour of In-Fighting

Jarosław Kaczyński threatens to suspend party members who continue internal debate after public conflict between Ryszard Terlecki and Sebastian Kaleta.

Terlecki vs. Kaleta

Ryszard Terlecki, a PiS MP, told a TVN24 journalist that Zbigniew Ziobro should not receive his parliamentary salary since he doesn’t appear in the Sejm. Sebastian Kaleta interrupted, telling Terlecki not to comment and stating Ziobro should receive his salary because he is “the object of political repression.” When asked about Kaleta’s behavior, Terlecki called it “gów******ria.” Kaleta responded on X: “I do not intend to answer MP Terlecki. I prefer that he insults me rather than Minister Ziobro.”

Kaczyński’s Warning

Other PiS politicians commented on social media, some taking Terlecki’s side, others Kaleta’s. President Jarosław Kaczyński decided to silence the situation. On X at 19:45, he wrote: “In connection with recent public statements by some PiS members, I inform that anyone who takes the floor in this harmful discussion, regardless of their merits and party position, will be suspended as a PiS member, which will obviously also affect their political future. Such behavior is extremely harmful to Poland and PiS.”

Brudziński’s Comment

However, PiS MEP Joachim Brudziński decided to speak. On X at 20:39, he warned: “If my colleagues, emotional like pensioners, think that the President will indulge them, they will end up like Poland Plus, Poland is Most Important or Sovereign Poland.” He added: “We have clearly defined tasks from President Jarosław Kaczyński: traveling around the country, talking to Poles and hard work. It is the voters who will hold us accountable for this, not which faction is more ‘cool’.”

“Jarek, Suspend This One Too”

“Did Joachim Brudziński speak in the forbidden discussion?” – commented journalist Wojciech Szacki from “Polityka.” Meanwhile, Anna-Maria Żukowska, head of the Left club, stated that if Kaczyński doesn’t react to Brudziński’s words, it means the president’s words in the party “no longer mean anything and this is his political end.” “Jarek, suspend this one too. He spoke out,” – mocked Roman Giertych, an MP from KO.

Joachim Brudziński’s Political Career

For years, Joachim Brudziński has been among the PiS politicians that Jarosław Kaczyński trusts the most. He joined Porozumienie Centrum in 1991, then joined PiS (currently he is one of the deputy presidents). In 2005, he became a PiS MP, holding positions including Vice-Marshal of the Sejm and head of MSWiA. Since 2019, he has been a Member of the European Parliament. Brudziński sometimes accompanies Kaczyński during summer vacations.
