Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki announced he will join the Independence Day March on November 11, outlining his plans for the national celebrations.
President Declares Participation in Independence Day March
In a speech for the portal wszystkoconajwazniejsze.pl, President Karol Nawrocki said the Independence Day March, held annually in Warsaw, is one of the most important days in the Polish calendar and a cherished tradition that draws broad patriotic groups dedicated to the national flag. He noted that in previous years, while serving as President of the National Memory Institute, he had also taken part in the central ceremonies attended by the highest state authorities. This year he will attend as President of the Republic and invited people on X to join the march, calling it a chance to send a positive signal to the world that Poles are proud, united and determined to build a great Poland.
Nawrocki on the Ukraine War
The president also referred to the ongoing war in Ukraine, saying that independence carries a great responsibility and that today the threat is even clearer than a few years ago. The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation brings the conflict back close to Poland’s borders.
He stressed that Poland needs an even stronger army and agreement on fundamental security matters – both domestically and within NATO – and that Poland must remain true to its identity and sovereignty while supporting European unity.
Schedule of Independence Day Events
On November 11, Nawrocki will attend several events. At 08:00 he will lay a wreath at the Monument of the Fathers of Independence, then at 09:00 he will attend the mass for the homeland at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. At 10:30 he will take part in the state awards ceremony at the Presidential Palace and deliver a speech.
