A 38-year-old man stabbed a 44-year-old woman in Włocławek, Poland, after a concert on Sunday evening, prompting a chase by witnesses.
Knife Attack and Witness Intervention
The incident occurred after an outdoor concert by the band Ich Troje, as part of the May 3rd Festival. Around 10:30 PM on Sunday, a 38-year-old man stabbed a 44-year-old woman near a store on a street leading from the Old Market Square in Włocławek, according to junior inspector Tomasz Tomaszewski of the Włocławek City Police Headquarters.
Witnesses to the attack pursued the assailant. Police determined that two men chased and attacked the attacker, stabbing and beating him.
Arrests and Hospitalization
Police have arrested a 37-year-old man involved in subduing the attacker, and are searching for another individual. Both the 44-year-old woman and the 38-year-old man were hospitalized in serious condition, and were found to be intoxicated.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation is ongoing regarding the assault with a dangerous weapon. The attacker could face up to eight years in prison for the knife attack.
