Woman stabbed in Zakopane on Monday; police searching for unknown perpetrator after victim escaped to seek help.
The Incident
The attack occurred on Monday (February 16) around 6 PM when a woman was stabbed in the abdominal area by an unknown man as she returned home to Olcza in Zakopane.
The injured woman managed to free herself and escape, reaching the nearest buildings where she requested help. Paramedics provided first aid and transported her to the hospital.
Police Response
Police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene and initiated a search for the perpetrator. A spokesperson for the Małopolska police confirmed that officers are securing evidence and establishing the circumstances of the incident.
Senior Constable Maciej Kasprzycki of the Zakopane police stated that officers are interviewing witnesses, analyzing surveillance footage, and considering various hypotheses about the attack.
“Intensive searches for the perpetrator are underway,” Kasprzycki told ‘Tygodnik Podhalański’.”
