A 28-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times during a dispute in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district around noon today, leaving her in critical condition.
Stabbing in Central Warsaw
A serious criminal incident occurred around 12:00 PM on Karmelicka Street in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district. A 28-year-old woman sustained severe injuries during an altercation in an apartment.
Police have detained a 27-year-old man on suspicion of the attack.
Victim Hospitalized with Critical Injuries
Neighbors reported a dispute in the apartment, during which the 28-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times with a knife. She suffered very serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where her condition is critical.
Suspect Apprehended
The suspect reportedly fled to another apartment in the same building after the incident. Police officers were dispatched to the scene, subdued, and arrested the 27-year-old man.
Blood samples will be taken from the man for analysis to determine the presence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
Investigation Underway
Police officers, a forensic technician, and an investigative team worked at the scene for an extended period. The area was secured, and officers conducted procedural activities and collected evidence.
Both Individuals are Ukrainian Citizens
Authorities have determined that both the injured woman and the detained man are citizens of Ukraine. The exact causes, motive, and course of the altercation will be investigated under the supervision of the prosecutor.
