Poland 2050 MEP Michał Kobosko criticizes party leadership’s “anti-democratic” style, citing recent internal conflicts.
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz Under Fire
First chairman of Poland 2050 Michał Kobosko told TVN24 that the party has drifted from its original principles since Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz became vice-chair and then chairman. Kobosko questioned her management style, stating: “The minister has started anti-democratic rule in our party.”
According to Kobosko, Pełczyńska-Nałęcz aims to “aggravate the situation” and “push out” members with differing opinions, a view shared by many party members.
Kobosko Considering Departure from Poland 2050
Michał Kobosko announced he is “close to deciding to leave the party,” citing recent events including a hastily convened National Council that adopted a “gag resolution” and revelations of an attempted internal coup in early January aimed at blocking the party’s electoral process.
“I cannot find myself in such an organization,” Kobosko stated. “I’ll say it stronger: I do not agree with anti-standards that smell to me of Lukashenko, generally a style strongly from the East.”
Conflict Escalates in Poland 2050
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz proposed halting personnel changes in Poland 2050 until March 21 to calm the ongoing internal conflict. The party’s National Council passed this resolution on Saturday, February 14.
MP Aleksandra Leo described the resolution as a “gag resolution” on Polsat News, noting the National Council was convened without observing the three-day deadline. The dispute has been ongoing for some time, with recent calls for the dismissal of parliamentary club chairman Paweł Śliz.
