Konfederacja Not Afraid of Czarnek: “Not Our Toughest Opponent”

Konfederacja dismisses PiS candidate Przemysław Czarnek, viewing him as symbol of past governments rather than a political threat.

Rzońca: For Us, This Is an Ideal Situation

Krzysztof Rzońca, secretary of Konfederacja, told Interia that Przemysław Czarnek is not their toughest opponent, adding that a tougher adversary would be someone who could distance themselves from PiS governments and admit to mistakes, which Czarnek won’t do.

According to Rzońca, Konfederacja views Czarnek’s candidacy not as a problem but as a political opportunity, particularly since Jarosław Kaczyński has forbidden PiS politicians from distancing themselves from their own government’s achievements.

Konfederacja Does Not Let Go of PiS Candidate

The dispute began after Czarnek’s nomination when Sławomir Mentzen published nine questions to the PiS politician regarding COVID-19 policy, the Green Deal, migration, and decisions during Morawiecki’s government.

Krzysztof Bosak responded to Czarnek’s calls for “calm on the right” by stating that what’s needed is “truth and accountability for the mistakes of the rulers and drawing conclusions from them,” noting Konfederacja won’t guarantee anyone political peace.

Czarnek Proposes Debate and “Peace on the Right”

Przemysław Czarnek offered to answer Mentzen’s questions comprehensively and proposed further discussions both publicly and off-camera.

During a meeting in Iława, Czarnek directly addressed Konfederacja leaders, saying there should be no civil war on the right but a common front against Donald Tusk, stating: “The enemy is not here, the enemy is not here!”

PiS: This Is Proof That We Hit the Mark

Prawo i Sprawiedliwość argues that Konfederacja’s attack is a nervous reaction rather than a sign of strength.

According to PiS vice-spokesman Mateusz Kurzejewski and party leader Jarosław Kaczyński, the sharp attack shows fear that Czarnek’s candidacy could take voters away from Konfederacja, which PiS hopes will help regain voters flowing to the right from Kaczyński’s party.
