Kremlin Responds to Trump’s Peace Plan: “We Have Not Been Informed”

Russia demands formal confirmation from Kyiv before acknowledging any agreement on Trump’s peace initiative.

Russia Awaits Formal Confirmation

According to Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Russia has not yet been informed of Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s approval of negotiations over Trump’s peace plan. Russian authorities assert that, despite media speculation, no formal signal from Kyiv indicating a willingness to start talks has appeared. They emphasize that until an official notification arrives, the issue will not be regarded as real.

No Official Ukrainian Agreement Yet

The Kremlin insists that a clear, formal communiqué from Ukraine must be transmitted before any claim that negotiations are being pursued. Until such confirmation is issued, all reports are treated as speculation. Russian officials argue that Ukrainian statements in the media do not always mirror genuine diplomatic actions, thus they await an unmistakable decision.

Doubt About Ukraine’s Willingness

From the Russian perspective, Ukraine has shown no genuine interest in commencing peace talks. Analysts note that even though proposals surface, the practical readiness to sit at a negotiation table is lacking. Russian representatives say only concrete steps could indicate a change in posturing.
