How Agricultural Pensions Are Calculated
Agricultural pensions from KRUS differ from the general system, with the basic pension playing a crucial role. Benefits consist of a basic component and a supplementary portion whose value depends on years of agricultural insurance coverage.
The basic pension constitutes 90% of the minimum pension. Its automatic increase affects all agricultural benefits.
New Pension Rates for 2026
Until the end of February 2026, the basic pension stands at 1,691.02 zł, increasing to 1,780.64 zł from March 1. This change directly impacts net amounts received. In practice, longer insurance periods result in higher dimension factors and thus greater monthly increases.
Impact of the 5.3% Indexation
Calculations with the 5.3% indexation rate show that the lowest net monthly increases will exceed 90 zł. Farmers with longer service periods can expect over 100 zł more each month.
This year’s indexation rate of 5.3% is slightly lower than last year’s 5.5%, reflecting lower inflation and wage dynamics in the economy, though nominal increases remain significant.
Application and Payment Process
Applications for KRUS pension indexation are required, though farmers do not need to submit additional documentation. The increased benefits will be paid according to dates specified in retirement decisions.
KRUS processes payments on fixed dates: the 7th, 8th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th of each month. When these fall on weekends, payments are made on the last business day before the weekend or holiday.
13th and 14th Pensions for 2026
Agricultural pensioners, like ZUS beneficiaries, will receive additional annual benefits. Both the 13th and 14th pensions will be paid at the amount of the minimum pension after indexation, which is 1,978.49 zł gross.
The 13th pension will be distributed in April, while the 14th will be paid in the second half of the year under separate regulations. Notably, the 14th pension from KRUS is not subject to the 2,900 zł threshold that reduces benefits under the “złotówka za złotówkę” principle.
