Former TVP chief Jacek Kurski unleashed scathing criticism of PiS leadership on X, accusing Mateusz Morawiecki of irrational conduct and demanding protection for the former premier.
Kurski Blames the Coalition for Targeting PiS
Jacek Kurski claims that the PiS environment is under severe pressure and is the target of an operation by the “Coalition 13 December” designed to erode civil stability. He urges consolidation, loyalty, and solidarity to defend Poland and the patriotic camp. Kurski published four extensive posts on Monday night, primarily directed at Mateusz Morawiecki, citing a Gazeta.pl interview where the former prime minister declared himself future premier and intended to join a “great coalition” with KO and Tusk. He described plans to punish wrongdoers, oppress the opposition, and break the constitution, while distancing himself from colleagues targeted by the coalition.
Accusations Against Morawiecki
Kurski also slammed Morawiecki for refusing to participate in a crucial PiS meeting, for inviting parliamentarians to a separate gathering on Nowogrodzka, and for behaving as if he were terrified. He alleges that Morawiecki is “obviously executing a plan” and that such fear makes a poor advisor.
Kurski Calls Morawiecki’s Actions Irrational
According to Kurski, the power struggle around PiS is aimed at breaking or dismantling the party, supported by junior players from the 13 December coalition. He says all possible tactics will be used, labeling Morawiecki’s recent statements as irrational and disloyal to Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, and suggesting that these gestures show a person under great personal pressure.
Protection for the Former Premier
Kurski argues that the former premier must be shielded by the party. He says that if he is being blackmailed or coerced to join the ruling coalition or to weaken the right, he has a duty to voice the truth publicly or to his political superior.
PiS Responds – “Don’t Attack Our Leader”
PiS MP Anita Czerwińska replied on X, chastising Kurski for the lengthy post and questioning his motive. Former government spokesperson Piotr Müller also responded, reminding Kurski that he is not the last person to advise on European election strategy, that decisions were made in full agreement with President Jarosław Kaczyński, and urged Kurski to delete the post.
