Last Epstein Documents Released Amid Controversy: “We Did Not Protect Trump”

U.S. Department of Justice releases final batch of Jeffrey Epstein documents, including over 3 million pages, sparking controversy.

Last Batch of Epstein Documents Released

On Friday (January 30), the U.S. Department of Justice released the final batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, covering 99% of all materials. This includes approximately 3.5 million pages, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 photos. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the publication fulfills a Congress-mandated obligation under a law passed last year. The release, over a month past the deadline, sparked controversy. New fragments contain age verification pages, and Trump’s name appears in over 3,000 documents.

Many Victim Names Not Redacted

Speculation suggests the delay aimed to shield public figures. Blanche explained the review process was complex, requiring hundreds of lawyers to work day and night. The DOJ withheld documents with personal victim data, child pornography, or ongoing investigation materials. Congressional members may view uncensored versions at the department. However, many victim names remain unredacted; CNN reports one woman found her name in emails exchanged with Epstein, and her lawyer received no response from the DOJ.

We Did Not Protect President Trump

Critics accused the DOJ of hiding Trump-related documents and diverting attention by implicating Democrats. Blanche repeatedly denied this, stating, “We did not protect President Trump.” He claimed no evidence exists of sexual exploitation by individuals other than Epstein, or prosecutors would have acted. The documents reveal an FBI report alleging Trump raped a 13-year-old girl. The accuser withdrew lawsuits before the 2016 election; her then-lawyer canceled a press conference due to fear, later stating she no longer represents the victim.
