Internet creator Piotr Hancke, known as Łatwogang, is embarking on a bike ride from Zakopane to Gdańsk to raise 12 million PLN for the Duchenne muscular dystrophy treatment of Maks Tocki.
A 12 Million PLN Challenge
Piotr Hancke, an online creator and streamer known as Łatwogang, has announced a new charity initiative. He intends to cycle from Zakopane to Gdańsk to support the treatment of eight-year-old Maks Tocki, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
The journey, which begins this Friday at 4:00 PM, will be broadcast live online. Organizers state that the goal is to fund gene therapy for the boy, which costs 15 million PLN in the USA, with 12 million PLN still needed.
Cycle for Life
In a published recording, Łatwogang stated that he wants to ride across Poland in one go while livestreaming the entire effort. He noted that if the target is met before reaching Gdańsk, he will ride back to Zakopane after a short rest.
The Reality of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare genetic disease that causes progressive and irreversible muscle atrophy. Most patients lose the ability to move independently around age 12, with the disease gradually affecting other muscle groups.
While the gene therapy available in the USA can halt the progression of the disease, it remains one of the most expensive treatments in the world. Since October 2025, over 3 million PLN has been collected, and organizers emphasize that time is limited because the treatment is only effective for children in relatively good physical condition. Any surplus will be donated to other children in need.
Record-Breaking Precedent
This is not the first major charity campaign organized by Łatwogang. In April, he hosted a nine-day stream for the Cancer Fighters foundation that raised over 257.5 million PLN.
At its peak, the previous event was watched by over 1.5 million people, featuring concerts, auctions, and challenges involving various public figures. The event was sparked by a song recorded by rapper Bedoes 2115 and a beneficiary of the foundation, Maja Mecan.
