Paweł K., a lawyer sentenced for a fatal 2021 car accident near Olsztyn, has been removed from the list of advocates following his resignation amid public outrage over his controversial remarks.
The fatal collision
The tragic accident occurred on September 26, 2021, on the route between Barczewo and Jeziorany. Driving a Mercedes, Paweł K. crossed a double solid line and collided with an oncoming Audi, killing the two women inside.
Controversial statements
Public outrage erupted after the perpetrator published a video online claiming the accident was a “confrontation between a safe car and a coffin on wheels,” stating that this was why the women died.
Legal consequences and arrest
The 46-year-old lawyer was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. After being wanted by an arrest warrant, he was apprehended by authorities in Hrubieszów in early May.
Removal from the bar
Previously suspended for two years due to his remarks, Paweł K. ended his career in the Lodz bar. He submitted a statement of resignation, leading the District Bar Council to strike him from the list on May 14, 2026.
