A 16‑year‑old in Leszno is accused of threatening and beating a taxi driver during a night between November 10 and 11, prompting police to investigate a complex case.
Taxi Driver Beaten in Leszno
A taxi driver was assaulted last month in Leszno. While refusing to take a 16‑year‑old to a gas station, she was told, “If you don’t take me, son‑of‑a‑bitch, I’ll drive myself.” The attacker allegedly forced her to leave the vehicle and seize the keys.
Volunteer Allegations of Mother’s Assault
The Leszno for Ukraine Foundation posted a message from one volunteer, who works as a taxi driver, describing her mother’s encounter on the night of November 10–11. She said the teenager demanded a ride, refused, grabbed her by the jacket, and tried to sit in the driver’s seat. She managed to exit the car and take the keys.
In a later testimony, the volunteer wrote that her mother was struck to the ground in one blow, kicked while lying, and cursed the attacker with harsh language, including “damn it” and a threat to return to Ukraine. She added that the victim had bruises and was in terrible psychiatric condition.
Teen’s Assault Claim
The teenager reportedly told a Ukrainian woman, “I’ll be a damn idiot, go to Ukraine,” and denied the assault, claiming he would drive the woman home himself. The woman cried in pain and fear.
Police Response and Medical Findings
Police commander Monika Żymełka confirmed that officers had received a report of the beating. She said the case has multiple threads and will be referred to the family and juvenile court for further action against the 16‑year‑old.
An X‑ray report noted irregular transparency in the right rib segment, possibly indicating a non‑displaced fracture. The victim also suffered bruises and severe psychiatric symptoms.
