The 2025 Local Government Congress drew a record 2,800 participants, including 1,000 local officials and representatives from 40 countries.
Record-Breaking Participation
The previous edition of the Local Government Congress (EKS) saw 2,800 attendees, of which nearly 1,000 were local government officials. This included 71 presidents, 186 mayors, 113 county leaders, and 176 village administrators.
Central Administration Presence
The 2025 EKS also featured numerous central administration representatives, including Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (Vice Premier and Minister of National Defense), Krzysztof Gawkowski (Vice Premier and Minister of Digitalization), Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk (Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy), and Marcin Kulaśek (Minister of Science and Higher Education).
International Reach
The Congress is the largest international conference on local government topics. In the previous year, it hosted over 450 foreign participants from 40 countries, primarily from Europe, but also from Asia and America.
Partnership Network
The 2025 conference featured a record-breaking number of over 160 partners, including companies, institutions, associations, and media. This broad representation from all sectors enabled extensive experience exchange and networking between local government leaders, central administration, and business.
Significance of Local Governance
According to organizers, the EKS demonstrated that local governments are not only a foundation but also a key driver of development in the face of global challenges. When asked about their participation, partners primarily emphasized the large presence of local government representatives, the involvement of individuals and institutions influencing the direction of European local governance, and the timeliness, diversity, and importance of the topics discussed.
