A suspect has been detained following a shooting incident at a Procter & Gamble factory in Łódź, Poland, after a prolonged standoff with police.

Police reported a lengthy operation took place at a company located on Nowy Józefów Street in Łódź, involving a man who barricaded himself inside the building. The police action was described as difficult and required significant officer involvement.

The incident occurred at a Procter & Gamble factory. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured. Approximately 400 people were evacuated from the building, and all employees had confirmed their presence, stated Sowińska during a press conference.

Suspect Apprehended During Negotiations

After a multi-hour standoff, the suspect was apprehended as he approached police during negotiations. Counter-terrorism units then took the man into custody, police reported.

Evidence Secured and Charges Pending

The suspect was transported to the Łódź police station. Evidence from the scene is being secured, including the weapon he possessed, which will be sent for expert analysis.

Attempted Homicide Charge Expected

The man will face charges of attempted homicide. Investigators have determined he attempted to shoot an employee. The motive behind the incident is currently under investigation.
