Jakub Palusiński, a councilor in Złoczew (near Sieradz) and president of the local Polish People’s Party, has died in a tragic accident.
Accident in Złoczew. PSL councilor killed
On Friday, August 8 in the early morning in Złoczew, near Sieradz, in the Łódź Voivodeship, a fatal accident occurred. Jakub Palusiński, a municipal councilor and president of the local Polish People’s Party, died. The 37‑year‑old was electrocuted while repairing a farming machine. Firefighters and medical responders were called to the scene. Though immediate assistance was rendered, his life could not be saved. An eyewitness performed CPR, after which firefighters and a doctor took over the resuscitation and confirmed his death, reported Brig. Jędrzej Pawlak of the Łódź Voivodeship State Fire Service Command. The exact circumstances are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
Farewell to Jakub Palusiński
The death of the PSL councilor was confirmed by Sieradz County Mayor Mariusz Bądzior. “With great sorrow I received the news of the tragic death of Jakub Palusiński. Kuba died while working in his own farm. He was a good, sincere, and friendly person. A passionate farmer, social activist, councilman of the Złoczew City Council, President of the PSL in Złoczew. We have known each other for years, we recently talked, joked, and together planned for his beloved Złoczew. He had so much energy, passion, and faith in the future. He would have turned 37 in September,” the mayor wrote.
Investigation into the councilor’s death
The councilor was also mourned by Dominik Drzazga, Mayor of Złoczew. “A public servant by vocation, who never sought attention but was always where important things happened for people. You worked quickly, fully engaged, with a sense of responsibility, as if you knew there was no time to waste. You had so many plans. We have talked about it many times. I promise – I will do everything to ensure these conversations do not go forgotten,” he wrote. Deputy Chief Sergeant Agnieszka Kulawiecka, spokesperson for the Sieradz County Police, informed local media that all circumstances of the incident would be clarified by the police under the supervision of the Local Prosecutor’s Office in Sieradz.
