A 20-year-old Toyota driver died in hospital, raising the death toll from a Sunday evening six-vehicle collision near Warsaw to three.

Third Victim Succumbs to Injuries

A third victim of the tragic accident in Łomianki, near Warsaw, died in hospital shortly after midnight on April 16th. The deceased is a 20-year-old man who was driving the Toyota involved in the crash.

Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba confirmed the death, bringing the total number of fatalities in the Sunday accident to three.

Details of the Collision

The accident occurred around 6 PM on Sunday in Łomianki. Police reported that six vehicles were involved. A collision between an Audi and a Toyota caused the Toyota to overturn into oncoming traffic, resulting in damage to four additional vehicles – an Audi, BMW, Toyota, and Honda.

Teenagers Among the Dead

Two teenage passengers in the Toyota – a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy – died at the scene. The Toyota driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died despite medical efforts.

Audi Driver and Passenger Arrested

The driver and passenger of the Audi fled the scene after the accident. Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident, both of whom have been temporarily detained.

Charges Filed Against Audi Driver

The Audi driver faces three charges: causing a fatal traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol, fleeing the scene, failing to provide assistance to the injured, violating a driving ban, and possession of narcotics. He could face up to 20 years in prison.

Second Arrestee Faces Charges

The second arrested individual has been charged with failing to provide assistance to those injured in the accident, a crime punishable by up to three years in prison.

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation into the accident is being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office and is considered one of the most tragic road incidents recently in the Warsaw area.
