Poland’s long-term unemployment increased by 8.5% in 2025, reaching over 414,000 people by November, the highest level in three years.
Reversal of Previous Trend
The past year brought a reversal of the previously positive trend regarding the number of long-term unemployed people. After years of improvement, the figures have once again begun to rise.

According to data from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy (MRPiPS), the number of long-term unemployed reached over 414,000 by the end of November 2025. This represents an 8.5% increase compared to the entire year 2024.
Concerning Development
This figure marks the highest level of long-term unemployment in Poland in three years. The upward trend is particularly concerning for workers aged 50 and above, whose employment situation has deteriorated significantly.
