Loot in Snow, Floor in Oil: ‘Olsen Gang’ Caught by Płock Police

Płock police apprehended two men after a burglary where thieves stole electronics, a mop, and dog food, spilling oil on the floor and returning to the scene.

Burglary with Unusual Loot

On Monday (9.02) in the Staroźreby municipality (Płock county), a residential burglary occurred. Surprisingly, the thieves stole not only electronic equipment but also a mop and dog food, while spilling oil from a fryer on the floor during their plundering. The total value of stolen items amounted to nearly 4,500 złoty.

Thieves Return to the Scene

Meanwhile, the perpetrators transported the stolen goods to a forest, then returned to the house, attempting to convince police officers they had come for a visit. Law enforcement quickly realized they were dealing with the burglary suspects.

Additional Charges

Breath tests showed that the older of the two men had nearly a permille of alcohol in his system while driving a Fiat. Additionally, he had a court order prohibiting him from driving vehicles.

Discovery of More Stolen Property

During a search of one suspect’s residence, officers found a car trailer stolen several days earlier. Further investigation determined that the man had stolen not one but two trailers, abandoning the second one in the forest.

Legal Consequences

The 32-year-old and 39-year-old men have been charged with burglary, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment. The older suspect must also face consequences for driving under the influence and violating a court order prohibiting him from driving.
