A fire erupted at about 7 a.m. on December 25 at the Immaculate Heart of Jesus Parish in Lublin, prompting a response from 19 volunteer fire squads.
Fire Breaks Out at Lublin Church
The blaze started on Thursday, 25 December at roughly 7 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Jesus Parish on Kunicki Road, Lublin. Nearby residents spotted smoke billowing from the roof and alerted the Lublin112.pl dispatch. They suspected the fire began in photovoltaic panels.
Extensive Firefighting Effort
Firefighters dispatched 19 crews to the scene, with additional support arriving from surrounding villages and even Puławy. Personnel are working to contain the flames, which threaten the wooden church structure. The fire has not yet been fully extinguished, and the exact cause remains unclear.
At the church, parishioners and clergy were gathering for the morning Mass when the fire started. Police also arrived at the scene, but no injuries have been reported.
Traffic Disruptions
Roads near the church have been closed to facilitate the firefighting operations, causing delays for local traffic. Police monitoring traffic flow have been present at the site.
