Lublin Officials Explain Air Threat Alert, Emergency Sirens in Swiadniki

East Lublin residents in Chełm, Świdnik, and Krasnostaw were alerted to a potential air attack threat from the RCB Saturday, forcing authorities to activate emergency sirens.

The RCB alert read: “Threat of aerial attack. Exercise exceptional caution. Comply with the authorities’ instructions. Await further communications.”

Declassified Information

At 18:30, RSZ Operational Command informed authorities that the precautionary measures had been completed, and residents received a message about the alert being canceled.

Local Officials’ Reactions

Świdnik Mayor Marcin Dmowski wrote: “In connection with the aerial threat, the police have issued an order to activate warning sirens in Świdnik. Please remain calm and follow official RCB communications.”

Public Response

For a short period, phone calls started coming in with questions about the situation, but the cancellation signal dispersed the panic.
