Luxury BMW 7 Series caught fire in Warsaw on February 27, with drivers attempting to extinguish the blaze before emergency services arrived.
Incident Details
On Friday, February 27, at approximately 17:40, a fire broke out on a passenger BMW limousine on Pułkowa Street in Warsaw, heading toward the city center. The fire spread so rapidly that despite attempts to extinguish it with multiple fire extinguishers, the vehicle was almost completely destroyed.
According to the driver, the first sign of trouble was smoke coming from the car, which other road users noticed. The driver pulled over to a green median strip between lanes and immediately tried to extinguish the fire.
Community Response
Other drivers stopped to help, with about eight people gathering at the scene with their own fire extinguishers. Despite their combined efforts, the fire continued to burn until emergency services arrived.
Emergency Response
One firefighting unit from the 11th Rescue and Firefighting Unit arrived and used one fire stream to extinguish the burning vehicle. While the fire was brought under control, the luxury BMW 7 Series was left practically completely destroyed.
Preliminary Findings and Impact
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by self-ignition within the vehicle. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions on Pułkowa Street, affecting both outbound and inbound traffic toward Warsaw.
