On Saturday, October 11, police in Podkarpacie announced the tragic final stage of the search for 14‑year‑old Maja and 15‑year‑old Wiktor, who had left the Rzeszów school and was reported missing by their parents the day before.
Since then, intensive search operations have involved police officers, firefighters, and rescue teams with dogs from the Rzeszów Civil Search and Rescue Association with Dogs (STORAT).
Bodies Found
Police learned that Maja last tried to contact her family around 18:00; since that time her phone had been inactive.
County Police Headquarters in Sanok received the missing‑persons report, and investigators confirmed that the two teens had met in the center of Rzeszów.
Both bodies were located Saturday afternoon in an accessible area among green spaces in Rzeszów. Police are undertaking necessary on‑site actions.
Prosecution Secures Bodies
The Rzeszów District Prosecutor’s Office has decided to secure the bodies for further examination.
