Possible Arson Investigated

Police are not ruling out the possibility of arson, according to a spokesperson from Wejherowo, as reported by polsatnews.pl.

Damage to Construction Equipment

The fire damaged machinery used for road construction. Five construction machines were destroyed in the blaze.

Fire Response

Nuclear Power Plant Plans in Choczewo

Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe has submitted an application to the President of the State Atomic Agency for permission to build a nuclear power plant in the municipality of Choczewo.

The planned facility will consist of three blocks with AP1000 reactors from Westinghouse. Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, wholly owned by the State Treasury, is the investor and future operator, with Westinghouse-Bechtel as the contractor. The pouring of the first nuclear concrete is planned for 2028, with the commercial operation of the first block scheduled for 2036.
