Major Russian Drone Attack on Zamosc

Ukrainian authorities warned of a Russian drone attack heading towards Zamosc, where it caused fires and significant damage in residential areas.

Multiple Military Movements

Ukrainian officials announced the attack targeted two residential blocks, resulting in fires and extensive destruction in residential areas. Vehicles caught fire due to falling debris from the drones. Local authorities also reported a fire on the upper floors of an administrative building in the central part of Kyiv.

Polish Military Operations

At 1:00 AM Warsaw time, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces issued a statement: “To ensure the safety of Poland’s airspace, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces activated all necessary procedures. Polish and allied aerial units are operating in our airspace, while ground anti-air and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness.”

International Support

A follow-up military statement was issued after three hours: “Operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace has been terminated in connection with the cessation of attacks by the Russian Federation on targets in Ukraine. We thank NATO and the Royal Netherlands Air Force, whose F-35 fighters helped ensure safety in Polish skies today.”
