A 47-year-old man was arrested in Podkowa Leśna and charged with robbery, assault, and property offenses, and has been detained for three months.

Police Identify Robbery Suspect During Routine Patrol

A police officer on patrol in Podkowa Leśna noticed a man riding a bicycle quickly. Recognizing the bike and the rider, the officer initiated a stop, which prompted the man to accelerate.

With assistance from a patrol unit, the man was apprehended and identified as a suspect in a robbery that occurred last year.

Robbery Details Emerge

Investigators confirmed the man’s appearance matched the description of the suspect who attacked a woman sitting in her car, demanding valuables and stealing her mobile phone.

Additional Charges Filed

The bicycle was identified as stolen from a property in Podkowa Leśna weeks prior, with the man claiming he found it. Further investigation revealed the suspect was also wanted for insulting and throwing waste at an employee in a local store two months ago.

Police also suspect him of multiple shoplifting incidents in the area.

Arrest and Detention

The 47-year-old faces criminal charges for robbery, insult, assault, and receiving stolen property. The case was transferred to the Grodzisk Mazowiecki District Prosecutor’s Office, which requested a preventative measure.

The court ordered the man to be temporarily detained for three months.
