Sokołów police have arrested the perpetrator of a burglary at a parish building in Sokołów Podlaski. The 57-year-old man has been charged, and the court has applied a preventive measure in the form of a three-month temporary detention.

Burglary Details

On Sunday, February 22, a burglary occurred at a parish building in Sokołów Podlaski. The man forced open a window in a pantry to enter. The parish’s monitoring system was activated, alerting the vicar who then confronted the man in the building.

The suspect claimed he entered due to hunger and had no intention of stealing. After being escorted off the premises, the vicar discovered money was missing and reported the incident to police.

Legal Consequences

The same day, Sokołów police arrested the suspect in Kosów Lacki. Based on the evidence gathered, the man has been formally charged with burglary. The court granted a three-month arrest at the request of the prosecutor. If convicted, the 57-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
