50-year-old in Pionki dies after sustaining burns from intentionally set fire that got out of control.
Tragic Incident
A tragic event occurred in Pionki (Radomski district) when a 50-year-old man was seriously injured while burning waste or grass. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital where he unfortunately died.
Emergency services received a report on Thursday (March 12) after 11 a.m. about a man lying in burning grass on Radomska Street in Pionki. A witness who tried to help the man alerted the services.
Emergency Response
Firefighters intervened at the scene, and the injured man with burns all over his body was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Łęczna.
Cause of Fire
According to preliminary findings, the man intentionally set the fire to burn waste or grass and lost control of the spreading flames.
Investigation
Police from the Pionki Police Station under supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zwolen are investigating all circumstances of this tragic incident.
Dangers of Grass Burning
Spring fires from burning grass or waste pose serious threats to people, animals, forests, residential homes, and farm buildings. Fire is an unpredictable element that can easily spread to buildings or forest areas, causing significant damage.
This marks the first fatal victim of grass burning incidents this year.
