A 42-year-old fugitive in Otwock attempted to evade arrest by concealing himself in a hidden compartment above the ceiling.
Fugitive’s Unusual Hiding Place
A 42-year-old resident of Otwock, wanted under an arrest warrant, attempted to avoid capture by choosing an unconventional hiding spot: a concealed compartment built into the space under the ceiling.
Despite his efforts, Warsaw police quickly located him.
Police Investigation in Otwock
Officers from the Warsaw Police Department’s Search and Identification Unit were conducting operations related to the 42-year-old fugitive. Operational intelligence indicated he might be in Otwock.
Upon confirming the information, officers proceeded to the identified address.
Initial Denial and Thorough Search
The fugitive’s partner answered the door and claimed he was not at the apartment. However, police did not accept this assurance and thoroughly searched all rooms.
Discovery of the Hidden Compartment
During the search, officers discovered a camouflaged compartment built into the ceiling near a wooden mezzanine. The 42-year-old was hiding inside, apparently believing this would help him avoid responsibility.
Police stated that experienced officers consider even the most unusual scenarios.
Arrest and Outstanding Warrants
The man was arrested based on an arrest warrant issued by the Otwock District Prosecutor’s Office for a 14-day temporary detention related to causing moderate bodily harm. He was also wanted by the Lubartów District Court to serve a sentence of 1 year and 8 months for possession of narcotics.
