Man Reports Nonexistent Car Theft, Then Faces Charges

Police investigation

The 29‑year‑old filed a theft report claiming a Toyota worth about 75,000 PLN vanished from Wołomin Street, but police found no evidence of a theft.

Discovery of stolen parts

Investigators found car parts from other stolen vehicles on an abandoned property he supplied, and in the dwelling fake license plates and documents.

Evidence at the address

At the claimed residence, officers recovered five sets of license plates, a German insurance policy, electronic modules with VIN numbers, and components of vehicles he owned.

Charges and custody

The man now faces up to ten years in prison for submitting false statements and an unmade crime report, and he is placed under police supervision.
