Kidnapping of Child in Koszalin
On the morning of December 15, a 10‑month‑old boy was taken from his mother’s hands in Koszalin when a man ran up and grabbed him. The mother immediately identified him and notified the police. Every minute counted, she wrote in a note. “The city commander of the Koszalin police issued an alarm for the entire unit,” Monika Kosiec, KMP Koszalin, stated.
Police Mobilizes All Patrols
The police directed all available patrols to the residential area of the woman and to the main exit roads. They also involved service guides, as well as officers from the prevention, traffic, criminal and intelligence divisions. Meanwhile, detectives tried to determine details about the perpetrator and the vehicle used. The vehicle was a black BMW.
Child Found
The breakthrough came on the S6 expressway near Kołobrzeg, where officers located the sought vehicle. The car was stopped for inspection and the abducted child was inside. The boy was immediately handed to the ambulance crew, who checked his condition; he suffered no injuries.
Two Suspects Arrested
Police arrested a 38‑year‑old man suspected of kidnapping the child and a 50‑year‑old driver of the vehicle. Officers are gathering evidence and detailing all circumstances of the abduction. “It is another example of how swift response, efficient coordination and the involvement of many officers can lead to a happy conclusion of a dramatic intervention,” Monika Kosiec wrote.
