A 24-year-old suspect threw a safe containing 80,000 zlotys from his vehicle while fleeing police in a high-speed pursuit near Warsaw.
Police Pursue Speeding Ford Driver
Police from Piaseczno reported an intervention in the Tarczyn municipality near Warsaw (Mazowieckie province) after a Ford driver traveling at excessive speed failed to stop for a road inspection.
During the pursuit, the suspect threw a safe containing money and a mobile phone from his car window before being apprehended. Authorities identified him as a 24-year-old resident of the Małopolskie province.
Stolen Items Recovered
During a search of the vehicle, police found a hammer and license plates reportedly stolen. They also recovered the items thrown during the chase – a mobile phone and a safe with 80,000 zlotys.
According to investigators, the suspect attempted to dispose of these items as they were also believed to be connected to criminal activity.
Suspected in Hotel Attack
The detained man was found to be wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonka for an incident at a prestigious hotel where he allegedly entered with a knife and attempted to kill a guest.
The victim was stabbed twice during the altercation. The suspect now faces charges of attempted murder, carrying a potential life sentence, and has been ordered to remain in custody for three months pending trial.
