A 24-year-old man led police on a high-speed chase before throwing a safe containing 80,000 złoty from his car in the Warsaw area.
High-Speed Chase Ends with Arrest
Piaseczno police described an intervention that took place in the Tarczyn municipality near Warsaw. A Ford driver who was speeding excessively did not stop for a traffic check. During the police pursuit, he threw a safe with cash and a mobile phone out of his car window. Officers quickly apprehended the man, who was identified as a 24-year-old resident of the Małopolskie voivodeship.
Evidence Recovered During Search
During a search of the 24-year-old’s car, police found a hammer and license plates that were reported stolen. They also secured the items the man threw from his car during the chase – a mobile phone and a safe containing 80,000 złoty. According to police, the suspect attempted to dispose of these items because they also came from criminal activities.
Separate Murder Attempt Investigation
It turned out that the arrested man was wanted by police from Warsaw and Zielonki in connection with an incident at a prestigious hotel. Officers reported that the 24-year-old entered the hotel with a knife and attempted to kill one of the hotel guests. Police determined that during the scuffle, the victim was stabbed twice with a knife. The man has been charged with attempted murder, which carries a potential life sentence. The court, at the prosecutor’s request, has applied a three-month detention order against the suspect.
