A severe fire broke out at a garage complex on Kościuszki Street in Legionowo on Tuesday afternoon, May 26, destroying multiple structures and vehicles while generating thick plumes of black smoke.
Emergency Response in Legionowo
Emergency services received reports of a fire near the intersection of Kościuszki and Chrobrego streets at approximately 4:19 p.m. on Tuesday. The Legionowo County State Fire Service dispatched seven firefighting vehicles to the scene.
Units from JRG Legionowo, along with volunteer fire brigades from Legionowo, Jabłonna, Kałuszyn, and Kąty Węgierskie, participated in the operation. Upon arrival, crews discovered a fully developed fire at a garage situated on a property boundary, which was rapidly spreading to an adjacent plot.
Containment and Property Damage
Firefighters deployed water streams to combat the flames while simultaneously protecting neighboring buildings. Following the containment of the fire, crews performed demolition work and thoroughly soaked the site to ensure no hidden fire pockets remained.
The blaze resulted in the total destruction of two adjacent garages and a utility shed, while two nearby vehicles were consumed by the flames. The intense heat also damaged the facade of a neighboring structure. No injuries were reported, and firefighting efforts concluded shortly after 6:00 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
