The Bundeswehr is conducting massive military maneuvers with a 500-soldier convoy traveling over 600km in Germany to test long-distance troop and equipment relocation capabilities.
First Phase: Convoy Movement Test
The first phase of the exercises involves swiftly transporting a battalion from barracks in Torgelow to Brandenburgia and back, covering a distance of approximately 600km. This is to test the ability to independently relocate forces without using railways or external logistical support.
Armored Vehicles on Public Roads
The convoy, consisting of Boxer, Fuchs, and Fennek vehicles, will move along both local roads and highways like the A20, A11, and A10. The soldiers will practice not only column driving but also the organization of the entire logistical support from refueling to providing meals and securing the convoy during a multi-hour march.
Boat Deployment After Return
After the convoy returns to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the soldiers will shift to strictly operational exercises. The scenario involves slowing down the enemy offensive and defending a designated area.
Warning to Drivers for Convoy Routes
Bundeswehr is warning drivers to exercise caution in areas where military convoys will be present. It is forbidden to drive between vehicles or attempt to overtake, especially on local and national roads. Furthermore, drivers should maintain a safe distance from moving columns to avoid disrupting movement and creating a hazard.
