Mastalerek Blasts Kaczyński Over Independence March Attendance

Former PiS MP Marcin Mastalerek criticized Jarosław Kaczyński for missing Warsaw’s Independence March, calling the leader unreliable and warning of the political fallout.

Marcin Mastalerek on the Independence March

During an RMF FM interview, former PiS MP Marcin Mastalerek was asked whether he joined the Tuesday Independence March in Warsaw. He replied that it was Jarosław Kaczyński who had removed him from the event‑list in 2015, offering him “either I or you” as a reward for co‑leading the presidential campaign. “How could I attend the march when Kaczyński instructed me otherwise?” he said, shrugging at the former president’s command.

Kaczyński Declared Unreliable by Mastalerek

Mastalerek accused President Karol Nawrocki of “stealing the political atmosphere” and argued that Kaczyński’s omission from the march was a real problem, noting that the leader was “not a reference point for the government and the media.” He added that Kaczyński’s presence had gone unnoticed, and that the commander was untrustworthy because he had actually not attended the marches.

Kaczyński’s Statement at the March

At the same march, PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński told TV Republika that he was “very satisfied” and that this was not his first time at the event. He said that in this “extraordinarily difficult” time, with both internal and external threats, democracy and the rule of law were under attack and that “plans to destroy Polish sovereignty” were underway, urging the gathering of people with varied views who care about Poland.
