Mayor Falls Through Ceiling at Renovation Site

A 61-year-old mayor from the Kalisz district was airlifted to a hospital in Konin on Thursday, May 28, after falling through a hole in the ceiling of a former school building.

Accident at Public Building

The Kalisz fire department received a report of an accident at a public utility building, formerly a primary school, around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28. Three fire brigades were dispatched to the scene, where emergency medical services were already providing assistance.

Mayor Hospitalized After Fall

Authorities confirmed that a 61-year-old resident of the Kalisz district fell from a height during ongoing construction and renovation work. The injured man was identified by multiple reports and confirmed by district officials as the mayor of Brzeziny.

Official Response and Investigation

Jan Adam Kłysz, the Kalisz County Governor, confirmed the accident, noting that the mayor was likely inspecting the progress of the building’s renovation. The victim was transported to a hospital in Konin by the Air Ambulance Service.
