Meeting on Łomianki Congestion

Warsaw and Łomianki officials met at Warsaw’s city hall to discuss a bus‑lane proposal aimed at easing congestion on the Pułkowa road.

Both Sides Approve Bus‑Lane Proposal

President Rafał Trzaskowski of Warsaw and Mayor Tomasz Dąbrowski of Łomianki signed a joint statement that a dedicated bus lane—without reducing existing traffic lanes—will be built along the Pułkowa road. The proposal is already approved by both city administrations.

Urgent Traffic Pressure on Pułkowa Road

The current access road is at its capacity limit. Vehicles and buses from Łomianki to Warsaw experience extended delays. The only long‑term solution cited is the construction of the missing S7 segment by the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways.

S7 Extension Scheduled for Next Years

The S7 improvement is planned for completion within the next few years, but until then, a temporary bus lane from Łomianki to Wóycickiego, about 1 km in length, could significantly cut travel times for buses.

Safety Audit and Local Adjustments

A traffic safety audit of the Pułkowa–Wóycickiego junction showed that extending green lights would compromise pedestrian safety, especially for students heading to Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. To avoid a bottleneck near the shopping centre, a shortcut from the mall parking to Pułkowa must be constructed.
