Melania Trump addressed online accusations of involvement in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex abuse crimes, stating the claims are false and urging Congress to hold public hearings for victims.
Melania Trump’s Statement
Melania Trump stated that lies connecting her to Jeffrey Epstein “must end today,” asserting that people are lying about her with no ethical standards, humility, or respect.
She denied any close relationship with Epstein or his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking.
Call for Congressional Hearings
Melania Trump appealed to Congress to provide a public forum for women who were victims of Epstein, allowing them to testify under oath.
She added that every woman should have the opportunity to share her story publicly if she chooses, with her testimony then entered into the Congressional record.
Email to Ghislaine Maxwell
Department of Justice records reveal Melania Trump sent an email to Maxwell in 2002, praising an article in a New York magazine.
The article featured photos of Epstein with Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Ghislaine Maxwell. The email read, “You look great,” and inquired about Maxwell’s travels, inviting her to call upon her return to New York.
Description of Email as “Ordinary Correspondence”
During an appearance at the White House, Melania Trump described the email to Maxwell as “ordinary correspondence,” stating her polite response was “nothing more than a little detail.”
