On Wednesday OGB polling put Korona‑Braun third with 11.8% support—a spot usually taken by Konfederacja; former party member Artur Dziambor blames Mentzen’s hubris for the shift.
Korona‑Braun Secures Third Place in OGB Survey
Poland’s All‑Poland Research Group released a survey showing Korona‑Grzegorz Braun ranked third with 11.8% support. Traditionally, third place in such polls has been held by Konfederacja. In the same survey, the group of Sławomir Mentzen and Krzysztof Bosuka received 10.67% support.
Dziambor Blames Mentzen’s Pride for Braun’s Surge
Former parliamentarian Artur Dziambor, once a member of the KORWiN (later Nowa Nadzieja) party, claims that Mentzen committed a sin of hubris and moved too far. He says Mentzen “kicked out” Braun, who had built a loyal following.
Dziambor notes that Mentzen’s prior affiliation with KORWiN, its split into the Wolnościowcy group in 2022, and subsequent exclusion from Konfederacja in 2023 have shaped the current political landscape.
Political Context and Braun’s Support Base
According to Dziambor, the Korona image of an uncompromising ideologue attracts a right‑wing electorate now, while Braun’s stance on “extremists” pulls in certain PiS voters. He observes that Braun claims to welcome all, earning support from anti‑system voters who see him as “our man”.
OGB Analysts Warn of Volatile Populist Numbers
OGB chief Łukasz Pawłowski cautions that Braun could peak at 15% amid growing fatigue with politics, but notes populist parties often surge and then fall sharply. The analysts expect that the high numbers may not hold until the elections.
