European Parliament member Waldemar Buda posted that a confiscated Ford Mustang would serve as a new service car for Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński.
Police Confiscate Sports Car
On April 19, 2025, in Ślubów, Mazovia, police stopped a driver of a sporty Ford Mustang GT equipped with a V8 engine, valued at approximately 150,000 PLN. The driver was tested with an alcohol breathalyzer, which showed 2.28‰ alcohol in their system.
According to Polish regulations, when a driver with over 1.5‰ alcohol in their blood is apprehended, their vehicle is confiscated by police. The prosecutor’s office in Ciechanów requested the car be transferred to the National Police Headquarters. According to Polsat News, the vehicle will be used by Mazovian police to pursue road pirates.
Political Controversy
European Parliament member Waldemar Buda published a photo of the confiscated car online, writing: “New service car for Minister Marcin Kierwiński, just a Mustang V8 450 horsepower is going to the services, when you play, you play big.”
Government spokesman Adam Szłapka commented on Buda’s post: “Warning: a lie! Buda – besides being extremely incompetent – is also a common fraudster.” MSWiA head Marcin Kierwiński also reacted, with department spokeswoman Karolina Gałecka adding: “The Mustang brand car was taken from a drunk driver last year. The court issued a clear verdict: forfeiture of the vehicle and its transfer to the Mazovian police. The claim that this is a vehicle for the minister’s use is fake news and disgusting, false lies.”
“Primitive Fake” Response
“Mr. Buda, this is not even a lie, it’s a crude and primitive fake. It perfectly reflects the quality of your political activities and your intellectual capabilities,” wrote Kierwiński.
Additional Fake News Reports
Reports also appeared online claiming the Mustang, confiscated from a drunk driver and transferred for police use, had been involved in an accident. Mazovian police commented on these reports: “THIS IS FAKE NEWS. The car is intact and doing well,” they assured on Facebook.
