MF: Tighter Excise Tax on E-Cigarettes

Poland’s Ministry of Finance publishes draft amendment to tighten excise tax on e-cigarettes and tobacco substitutes.

Published Amendment

A draft amendment introducing changes in this area has already been published on the pages of the Government Legislation Center. This represents another step by the Ministry of Finance to tighten the collection of excise tax on e-cigarettes and other substitutes for traditional tobacco products.

Ongoing Legislative Work

Legislative work is still ongoing on another amendment project, which provides for the taxation of e-cigarettes operating on the principle of electromagnetic induction. This proposal has not yet been approved by the government.

Despite this, the Ministry of Finance had previously announced the need for further changes to the excise tax law.
