Energy Minister Motyka slams President Nawrocki’s delay in signing the SAFE law, accusing him of playing games with military funding.
Motyka Criticizes Nawrocki’s SAFE Delay
Minister Motyka commented on NBP President Glapiński’s speech regarding the “zero percent SAFE” proposal. Glapiński emphasized the need to utilize the accumulated 197 billion zł in unrealized value to build military strength to deter aggression. Motyka dismissed this as a “stand-up comedy,” arguing that neither the military nor the Armaments Agency can procure funds or sign contracts faster or better through other programs.
Motyka also stated that PiS is now “polemicizing with the military,” a significant shift as defense spending and modernization were previously non-political issues, even during the Duda presidency.
Nawrocki Accused of Playing Games with Military
Minister Motyka addressed President Nawrocki’s prolonged decision on signing or vetoing the SAFE law, accusing him of “playing” and questioning what Nawrocki told generals who sought his support for the law guaranteeing equipment, funds, and modernization. Motyka asserted Nawrocki should listen to military experts.
Motyka stated Nawrocki “only knows how to beat up in the woods,” claiming this is his only experience and skill. He described this as a “permanent smile and the game continues,” arguing that a veto against SAFE is actually against the military, not the government, and cannot be justified by the Commander-in-Chief.
