Ministry to Revise Waste Fee Regulations After Municipal Feedback

Poland’s Ministry of Climate is revising waste fee regulations in response to over 1,700 comments from municipalities.

Legislative Updates Underway

Work is progressing on a draft bill to amend the Act on maintaining cleanliness and order in municipalities, which Poland’s Ministry of Climate and Environment (MKiŚ) published at the end of October last year. The ministry is now working on an updated version of this legislation.

Extensive Public Consultation

In response to inquiries from DGP, the Ministry of Climate has confirmed that over 1,700 comments were submitted to the draft project. The ministry has indicated that some of the proposed solutions will be modified following these submissions.

Collaboration with Local Authorities

The revision process will include intensive consultations with local government representatives. This collaborative approach aims to address concerns and refine the waste fee system to better serve municipal needs.

Exemption Policies Under Review

The legislation will also address new exemption policies for waste fees, though specific details of these exemptions have not yet been finalized as the draft continues to evolve.
