mObywatel 2026: Reporting Poor Internet Access with One Click

The mObywatel application has introduced a new reporting feature allowing users to flag slow or absent internet connections, aiming to help authorities and operators map infrastructure gaps more accurately.

Simplified Reporting Process

The mObywatel application has launched a new service for residents struggling with slow fixed-line internet or a total lack of network access. Users can now report connection issues at a specific address, indicating whether the service is insufficient for work or education needs.

The feature is currently being rolled out to users gradually, and access requires an active mDowód digital ID within the application. Once submitted, these reports are transmitted to the internet.gov.pl system to assist in planning broadband infrastructure expansion.

Identifying Infrastructure Gaps

This functionality is particularly relevant for residents in smaller towns, new housing developments, and suburban areas where telecommunications infrastructure often lags behind residential growth. In many such regions, official data may suggest internet availability, while the real-world connection quality remains substandard.

Users can specify their expected internet speeds, providing operators with concrete data regarding local needs. While this does not guarantee an immediate installation of fiber-optic cables, it serves as a crucial signal for operators who previously lacked investment data for specific locations.

Functionality and Usage

The reporting process is fully contained within the mobile application, requiring no digital signatures or additional documentation. Users can track their submissions through the internet.gov.pl service once the report has been processed.

The mObywatel application is increasingly functioning as a centralized hub for public services. By incorporating infrastructure-related reporting, the government aims to simplify the process for citizens, moving away from complex forms on operator websites toward a more streamlined digital experience.
