Starting February 9, Polish adults can block lost ID documents instantly through the mObywatel app, eliminating bank and office visits.
How the New Feature Works
The new feature is active after updating the app to at least version 4.75.0 and is available to adults with an activated mDowód. Information about the restriction is sent to the banking system almost immediately. The service has been integrated with the national “Documents Restricted” system, managed by the Polish Banks Association. After reporting in the app, information goes to banks and cooperating companies.

Reversing a Block
If you block a document in the app and then find it, you can withdraw the report – also through mObywatel. This provides flexibility if documents are recovered after being reported lost.

The new option is just one part of mObywatel’s expanding catalog of services. Users can now access mDowód, driver’s license, e-prescriptions and other functions. The app has evolved from a digital wallet for documents into a security tool.
